Castries, Saint Lucia — September 2026 — Saint Lucian fashion stepped onto the international stage in London as designers Marshall Celestine of NGU Clothing and Tamla Lionel of LUXATOIRE showcased their work through House of iKons during London Fashion Week.

The showcase marked another milestone in Saint Lucia's growing creative footprint, placing locally developed fashion brands before an international audience of industry professionals, fashion enthusiasts and global creatives.

Supported by the Government of Saint Lucia and Export Saint Lucia, the opportunity formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the creative industries, create pathways into international markets and connect Saint Lucian talent with global platforms and networks.

From Export the Runway to the world

The London showcase continued a journey that has increasingly taken Saint Lucian fashion beyond the local runway and into major international fashion markets.

Following previous support for Saint Lucian designers at New York Fashion Week and Lagos Fashion Week, London represented another significant step in expanding the visibility and international reach of the island's fashion sector.

“Our creative industries have tremendous potential as an area of export growth. By connecting our designers with international platforms, we are helping to create the visibility, relationships and market access that can support these businesses well beyond a single showcase.”

Chief Executive Officer, Export Saint Lucia

LUXATOIRE's journey comes full circle

The London appearance carried particular significance for Tamla Lionel, whose LUXATOIRE brand made its debut at Export the Runway 3 in June 2025.

Since that debut, Lionel has continued to develop the brand internationally, taking LUXATOIRE to Lagos Fashion Week before presenting her work in London. The brand has evolved as The Luxury Laboratory, using fashion as a platform to explore Caribbean identity through Lionel's own design language.

“Export Saint Lucia gave me a platform to introduce LUXATOIRE, test my voice as a designer and begin to see how far the brand could go.”

In London, Lionel presented A Caribbean Harvest, bringing the journey from her Export the Runway debut to an international fashion platform full circle.

Opening doors for Saint Lucian creatives

For Marshall Celestine, the international opportunity reflected a broader ambition for Saint Lucian creative businesses: ensuring that each door opened internationally can create pathways for other creatives to follow.

Following NGU Clothing's participation in Export the Runway 2025, the brand's continued international engagement has reinforced the role that local platforms can play in helping designers build networks, visibility and opportunities beyond Saint Lucia.

“London is not the beginning of this mission, and it will not be the end.”

Creative industries as an export opportunity

The Honourable Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister of Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage, highlighted the importance of international exposure in creating pathways for Saint Lucian creatives to build brands and connect with global audiences.

“Our creative industries are an important part of Saint Lucia's economic and cultural identity. Creating opportunities for our creatives to access international markets allows them to build their brands, establish valuable connections and carry Saint Lucia's creativity into the world.”

Saint Lucia's creative footprint continues to expand

The London showcase adds to a growing pattern of international exposure for Saint Lucian creatives and demonstrates the value of linking local development platforms such as Export the Runway with established international fashion markets.

Through the Government of Saint Lucia's support for the creative economy and Export Saint Lucia's work in facilitating international market access, initiatives such as the London showcase are helping local designers move beyond simply presenting their work toward building relationships, strengthening their brands and developing sustainable international market opportunities.

From Saint Lucia to New York, Lagos and now London, the journey reflects an expanding international presence for Saint Lucian fashion — carrying the island's creativity, identity and entrepreneurial talent into new markets and audiences.
