Saint Lucia participates in Expo Milano

Expo Milano 2015 is a non-commercial, Universal Exposition with some very unique and innovative features taking place in Milan, Italy, from May to October. Approximately 24 million visitors are expected to attend the Expo and 1 billion through Cyber Expo. More than 144 countries and 3 international organizations have confirmed their participation in the EXPO.

The Expo’s theme, “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” is meant to bring to the fore the problems of nutrition and resources of our planet. The idea is to initiate dialogue between international players to exchange views on these major challenges.

The ambition of Expo Milano 2015 is to implement a vision of Universal Expos that reflects our times, realizing a truly global Event of the 21st Century, a worldwide forum, combining ideas, stimulating and leading global discussion around the theme, facilitating cooperation and networking among all stakeholders and creating a worldwide platform for best practices and innovations.
Saint Lucia has been clustered under the umbrella of the Caribbean Community and will be hosted in the Islands, Sea and Food Cluster under the concept of, “The Rhythm of Discovery”. In accordance with the CARICOM Model proposed, TEPA worked with the CARICOM Secretariat to implement Saint Lucia’s presentation at the event.

This project also seeks to provide opportunities for export-ready service providers with a view to penetrate new niche markets. It also seeks to provide exposure to export ready firms to enhance their competitive position in the global market place.
