JKLM: Turning Coconut to Coins
Julien Calderon, owner of JKLM after retiring started an agro-processing company, which grates and packages grated coconuts. His products have been popular with local bakeries, is sold at local supermarkets and is now being exported in the Caribbean region with assistance from Export Saint Lucia!
Highlights from Image and Marketing Workshop
Export Saint Lucia continues to lend its support to Saint Lucia’s budding Creative Industry. In its latest show of commitment, the Agency partnered with the Cultural Development Foundation and the Department of Culture and Creative Industries within the Ministry of Tourism Information, Broadcasting, Culture & Creative Industries to host a workshop to assist Dennery Segment and Soca music artistes and managers. The workshop was facilitated by Stephen Phillip, popularly known as “International Stephen.”
Bee City Project
In March 2019, Export Saint Lucia, along with regional Business Support Organizations (BSO’s) and private sector businesses were the beneficiaries of a Cluster Development Training Program by Compete Caribbean. Subsequently, Compete Caribbean issued a call for proposals to receive funding for Cluster Development Plans. Export Saint Lucia, in partnership with Ministry of Agriculture, SLBS, NCPC, IICA, SLCSI & Beekeepers Associations/Cooperatives, Cocoa Growers Association and OECS submitted two proposals. The Saint Lucia Bee City Cluster was successful, which will seek to increase honey production in Saint Lucia.
Saint Lucian Exporters Participate in 4th EU CARIFORUM Business Forum
Export Saint Lucia together with some Saint Lucia exporters, participated in the 4th CARIFORUM-EU Business Forum hosted by Caribbean Export in Germany from September 26-28, 2019! The CARIFORUM-EU Business Forum brought together over 150 carefully selected stakeholders to develop and build international partnerships through participating in business to business meetings, networking and professional consultations.
