In the Caribbean early-stage and growth stage businesses play a critical role in sustainable economic and social development. They foster growth, innovation and prosperity and are flexible and quick to respond to market changes, such as evolving consumer tastes. This is an important asset in a globalized economy where consumers are ever more aware and informed, and increasingly in search of more customized goods and services.
LINK-Caribbean Investment Readiness Grants are designed for entrepreneurs leading businesses with exciting prospects for growth, but for whom securing investment remains a challenge. Thus, the purpose of these grants is to prepare companies for angel (or other relevant sources) investment within a short time frame (targeting 3-6 months) by providing funding for specified purposes that improve the prospects for investment.
Investment Readiness (IR) Grants offer funding to start-up and early-stage enterprises that show business and investment promise but are still not considered “investment ready” by investors. Ideally, entrepreneurs applying for grants will have engaged with investors (or attempted to) and received some feedback on what key business milestones need to be met to improve the likelihood of investment.
