Honey production & honey exports present a great option for many rural Saint Lucians to achieve financial stability. However, honey production remains a small industry that still relies heavily on traditional means of extraction, instead of using technology. 

The Bee City project will reduce the constraints hindering the expansion of the sector. The project will position Saint Lucia’s honey in niche markets, catering to health conscious consumers.

The Bee City project  aims to enhance the honey industry through three steps:

  1. Product development
  2. Institutional strengthening and capacity building
  3. Domestic and international market development
