Export Saint Lucia Empowers Local Businesses through EXCELP Workshop on Social Media Marketing

Castries, Saint Lucia – April 15, 2024 – Export Saint Lucia successfully conducted a pivotal component of its Exporter Capacity Enhancement Learning Program (EXCELP), focusing on social media marketing. The session, facilitated by key members of the Export Saint Lucia team, saw the participation of over 80 individuals virtually, from both the private and public sectors, including business owners, public relations professionals, and government representatives.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, March 27th, delved into seven key pillars essential for mastering social media marketing. Participants were engaged in topics ranging from an introduction to social media, building a robust online presence, content creation and curation, to audience engagement strategies, social media advertising, analytics and measurements, and emerging trends in social media.

At the conclusion of the session, successful participants were awarded certificates acknowledging their participation and commitment to enhancing their social media marketing skills. Additionally, each participant received a comprehensive social media handbook, providing valuable insights and strategies to further their digital marketing endeavors.

Hon. Emma Hippolyte, Minister for Commerce under which Export Saint Lucia falls remarked that “In order for Saint Lucia to compete on the global stage, social and traditional media marketing cannot be ignored. In this age where the brick and mortar business place has given way to the information superhighway, anyone, any business which cannot be found there or does not effectively use that media will soon be lagging behind. It is wonderful to see the foresight of Export Saint Lucia and the enthusiasm of the attendees of that workshop.”

Commenting on the success of the workshop, Ms. Sunita Daniel, CEO of Export Saint Lucia, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to see the overwhelming response to our EXCELP program, particularly in the realm of social media marketing. In today’s digital age, a strong online presence is paramount for businesses to thrive, and we are committed to equipping our local entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in the global market.”

Export Saint Lucia remains dedicated to fostering the growth and development of Saint Lucian businesses, empowering them to excel in both local and international markets.
