TEPA’s CEO Jacqueline Emmanuel-Flood and Ms. Pauline Wade from the British Chamber of Commerce sign MOU

Monday February 15th 2016 marked the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Saint Lucia Trade Export Promotion Agency (TEPA) and the British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce (BCCC).

The BCCC is a trade facilitation organisation that assists British and Caribbean companies in conducting business. The signing of this MOU sees the strengthening of the cooperation between both the BCCC and TEPA, with regards to promotion of local trade and export. This enhanced relationship between the two entities will result in increased knowledge of business opportunities, partnerships and ventures available to business owners, the promotion and improvement of trade between the UK and Saint Lucia and the facilitation of trade fairs, missions, exhibitions and other activities to promote trade.

BCCC-TEPA-MOU-Singing-IIOf paramount importance to the collaboration is the support for a Market Access Programme that will inform how to access the United Kingdom (UK) market, including access to key market advisors, sector specialists, importers and other buyers to provide a comprehensive overview of the market. Effective communication between trade facilitation entities is important and as such the creation of mechanisms for communication and the exchange of trade related information will also be employed.

The MOU will act as a platform to build additional relationships, exchange ideas on capacity building, transfer of technical knowledge, and joint hosting of events between the British-Caribbean Chamber of Commerce and TEPA. The expertise gained through this relationship will greatly assist TEPA as we constantly seek new and exciting markets for Saint Lucia’s goods and services.
